There is a lot we can learn about building communities through technology from software companies in Africa. In her talk, Angela will draw on her longstanding experience with Ushahidi and AkiraChix. Highlighting best practices for community engagement, she will also touch upon the question how to empower people to make an impact with open source technologies, cross-sector partnerships and ground-breaking ventures and how to effectively involve women in tech. Furthermore, Angela will show examples of current developments in the field.
